Senior Culminating Project

For my senior culminating project, I wanted to photograph dogs from local shelters and rescues to help with the increase in adoption rates. I believe that a nice, welcoming photo of a dog gives them a greater chance of being adopted, rather than a photo of them in a kennel.

I got in touch with Little PAWS 4 Rescue, an organization that puts rescue dogs into foster homes. They held an adoption event, where I was able to meet the dogs and take photos of them. All the dogs were so sweet and easy to work with! Thank you to Little PAWS for allowing me to come in and do this project of mine.

A Look Back at 2012

Well, alright...my 2012 started off great with the Alabama Crimson Tide winning the BCS National Championship game!

Not everything was happy though. My family and I had to say goodbye to our sweet basset hound, Jadee.

We later saw Mat Kearney preform live in Seattle...

We were front row at an incredible concert by one of our favorite artists!

This is definitely my favorite memory from 2012. My sisters and I went to ECCC...and we met James and Oliver Phelps of Harry Potter! Yeah, I was starstruck and a very happy girl.

While there, we also met the very sweet, Adam Baldwin of Chuck, Firefly and so much more!

And again, my family and I had to say goodbye to another one of our dogs. Bo was the first pet that I could call mine. I still remember the day when we named him and brought him home..

I never thought this would ever happen, but I was able to see Starkid preform live in Seattle! This was their Apocalyptour, it was amazing to say the least.

Summer started and the fun continued. For the Fourth, some friends and I went to a friend's cabin up in Lake Cushman.

It was a Fourth without any fireworks, but we enjoyed the sun and had a wonderful time.

We saw The Gaslight Anthem! It was our second time seeing them and both times, we were in the front row!

After the concert, we met Brian Fallon, the lead singer of Gaslight!

Olympia comes to life during the summer... the view looking down at Lakefair.

We didn't have any fireworks on the Fourth...but we went and saw the Lakefair fireworks in a nice, little secret spot.

So this was definitely cool. My friends know a great, little band called, Wooster. The band was playing up here to begin with, so my friends asked them if they were able to play a small show for us. Small indeed. Wooster came and hung out with us at the small, intimate backyard concert.

So when the day comes when Wooster is famous band, I'll be able to say I hung out with Brian Gallagher (below) and the rest of the band.

The Seattle Seahawks have had fans come and watch training camp for the past four years now. I've been to three out of four, and each time I've met some of the players!

This year... we met the man himself, Russell Wilson!

My mom, sister and I took a small trip to Cannon Beach during August. The weather was nice and so were the sunsets.

My senior year began in September and a new school year means the Spaghetti Bowl! For the second time during my four years in high school, we beat our cross town rival! We were so excited, we stormed the field...

The Happiest 5K on Earth! Yup, that's right. I ran The Color Run in Portland with family and some friends!

The only time I'll have that much fun running...

This year, my twin sister and I also turned 18! We were even able to vote in this election!

I only went to my freshman homecoming, so of course I had to go my final year. We got together a great group of guys and girls, and a wonderful night!

Seems like a year isn't complete until my family and I go to a Seahawks game! This year, it was the Veteran's Day game versus the New York Jets.

We won, of course. I also got to see Tim Tebow get sacked... so I'd say it was a good day.

This was also the first year that I spent Thankgiving without my parents. My sisters and I flew to Boise for a much needed visit with some family. My favorite part of flying? The views.

Okay. I love these girls with my whole heart. There is never a dull moment with us, we are always crazy. For example, our Christmas party...

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas....and so it came true, we had a white Christmas, with almost 5 inches at our house. It was a Christmas miracle!

I had one hell of a year, that's for sure. I love all my friends and family for all the memories, I am thankful each and every one of them. This year, there were a lot of low times but 2012 could be one of the best years...to date. 2013 will be a huge year with graduation and moving to college...so here's to an incredible 2013!

Happy New Year, y'all.
